Japanese 1931-1934 Manchurian Incident War Medal With Case of Issue

This medal was established in July of 1934 commemorating the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1931, and the subsequent border campaigns (as war was not officially declared, the action was referred to as an "incident"). TThe medal is made of bronze with a swiveling hanger connected to the top of the medal which the ribbon passes. The bar has a row of four kanji characters, translating to "War Medal."

The medal comes with its original case of issue, a navy blue leatherette covered hard shell case with stamped in gold, a column of eight kanji characters. A fabric hinge connects the cover along its upper edge to its base. Inside is lined with yellow flock cloth.

Both medal and case is in very good condition and shows only minor signs of age and use.
