U.S. M.1 Swivel Bail Front Seam Combat Helmet, Named And Unit Decal For I Armored Corps

 


Two-piece helmet with resin-impregnated canvas liner and shell, first developed in 1941. The shell retains approximately 70% of its rough-textured olive drab paint to the exterior. The helmet has 1943-45 production swivel bail loops for the chinstrap. Shell is complete with its original two piece (broken) olive-drab webbed chinstrap and metal fittings. Helmet rim has its seam to the front. A decal representing the 1'st Armored Corps which saw action in Northern Africa, operation "Torch" and in Italy operation "Huskey" for example. The helmet is also named to the inside.

 

Condition, the helmet shows clear signs of age and real use with broken chin strap and one aprox 4cm long crack to the rear of the liner. The liner is also missing the chin strap.

 

Battle used U.S army helmet which is both named and complete with a very decal for the 1'st armored corps!!
